Calgary Zoo
The Calgary Zoo is a wonderful family destination in the city of Calgary, AB. The Calgary Zoo is located east of downtown and is easily accessible by CTrain. It’s open seven days a week, and admission costs CA$30 for adults and CA$20 for children ages three to 15 years. The zoo’s four major buildings are named after regions of the world. For example, the Africa section includes the African Savannah, the TransAlta Rainforest, and the Prehistoric Park. The African Savannah building is an excellent place to see different animals from the continent. It also has a large indoor pool for the hippos and a baobab tree. The zoo is open every day except Christmas.
The prehistoric park is a six-acre exhibit featuring life-size dinosaurs. There are also replicas of an inland sea, a volcanic mountain, and more than 100 species of living plants. You can feed the dinos or take part in educational activities like playtime games. If you’re a kid, don’t miss the opportunity to interact with the Asian elephant Lucy.
